Good Question!

Thanks for asking...

A beemie is a three-part story - simple as that.  It has a BEEginning, a MIddle, and an End

...the idea behind a beemie is that...

  • ...YOU write one part...
  • ...someone ELSE (let's call them Bing) writes another part...
  • ...and someone ELSE (let's call them Bong) writes another part.

That's it!

STEP 1

  • So, let's say you write the beginning of a beemie and submit it to the website, maybe with a cool picture you have drawn.  We check it over (no rude words please...) and then it will be available for others to see.

  •

STEP 2

  • Bong, sitting at home with nothing to do, decides to check out the kidscapism website.  She searches for beemies written by people of her own age (like YOU).  She finds your beginning part, and decides to write a middle part, following on from your story, expanding your ideas, making your story into something new (written by Bong, and YOU!).

  •

STEP 3

  • Later, after playing soccer for fifteen hours, BING goes online and finds your beginning, and BONG's middle.  He thinks 'Aha, that's a good story, I'm going to finish it off with my fantastic ideas about spaceships'.  (you and Bong had been writing about fairies in the bottom of the garden, but never mind...).  BING writes his ending and submits it to the website.

  •

STEP 4

  • Your family get a couple of emails (if you want them) telling you that YOU, BONG and BING have put a story together!  That's it.

  •

STEP 5

  • You go to the website, and search for your beemie - and there it is - written by YOUBINGBONG (or maybe YOUBONGBING).  Or perhaps even BONGYOUBING!  You print out a certificate with the completed story and send it to your old auntie - out West.

  •

STEP 6

  • She sends you money!

Fantastic.  Well done!  If you are logged in, you can   Start a new Beginning here    or    Search for Beginning or Middles and add to them here
